My comments are:

i would like to know what is the best speed to write a cd - audio and data.
also i wanted to ask you, what is the cdr known for the best results.
i am very happy with your web site (it's very "hot" here in israel)

Thanks for your comments. The best speed to write a CDR for audio is probably 1X on most writers, provided you have a good medium that has reasonably good error correction. 1X usually has the most stable clock in most writers. Look at the graphs of the CD writers and pick a blank brand that has low BLER at or near 1X. Stay away from the blanks that are rated at 8X if possible.

Taiyo Yuden is the most reliable brand of CDR that works well at 1X. Many brands of blanks now are very bad at 1X, which is quite sad. If you have a Plextor writer, it seems to perform quite well for audio at 2X, but your mileage and opinion may vary. In that case, go back down to 1X. Again, for audio, it's probably a matter of clock stability.

For data writing, pick a speed that is at the center of the BLER curve, neither too high nor too low, for the lowest errors. For the vast majority of writers and media, that is probably 2X.
